In Dutchess County, New York, a couple of adventurous hikers owe their rapid rescue to cutting-edge Chinese drones. The couple, in their twenties, had lost their way while hiking the trails on Stissing Mountain. As darkness fell, they placed a frantic 911 call for help.

Responding swiftly, the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with its Patrol, ATV, and Drone Units, deployed a DJI Matrice 30 drone equipped with thermal imaging over the sprawling 590-acre forested area.

According to Sheriff Imperati, “Our Drone Unit utilizes cutting-edge technology, which not that long ago was only possible with helicopters.” He takes pride in his team’s diligent work and the effective utilization of this technology which he states “enhances public safety and saves taxpayers a tremendous amount of money.”
