The leading maker of camera drones, DJI, has disclosed that it intends to improve the map services for certain of its drone flying applications. Drone pilots are advised to upgrade their DJI apps to the most recent version to ensure proper map viewing.

In preparation for the redesign of the mapping services, the tech giant is advising operators to update their applications and remote controls by November 25, 2022.

Here’s the official DJI announcement:

Dear Users,

Thank you for choosing DJI. DJI always continues to iterate and release more advanced product functions. To provide a better service experience, we will soon update the map services for some apps.

It is recommended to update the app/remote controller before November 25, 2022, to continue to benefit from regular feature updates and performance improvements.

Continuing using older versions of the DJI app will negatively impact map display. We apologize for any inconvenience you may experience.
