For two years, we have not had an in-person DJI Enterprise event, but this year it’s back. DJI Airworks started today with a three-day event aimed at commercial and enterprise drones and drone solutions.

DJI shows drone-in-a-box at DJI Airworks

Today, we had a welcome session for the media, a few break-out sessions, and a demo of the DJI Matrice 30 and the new DJI drone-in-a-box solution. It took a minute for the M30 to take off, as you can see in the video below.

DJI employees informed us that the strip in Las Vegas is a tough place to get sufficient satellite connections for a safe drone flight.

DJI also made sure to get the necessary permissions in place to fly in downtown Las Vegas, something that is otherwise not allowed. Remember that DJI Phantom 4 that drifted and landed at McCarran Airport a few years ago? Exactly, that is why.

Don’t expect the drone-in-a-box concept to take off any time soon, at least here in the U.S., as we lack the proper BVLOS…
