Since it was released in the fall of 2021, the DJI Mavic 3 has received a number of firmware updates, which have finally brought the performance and features to DJI’s flagship drone that were promised by DJI at the time of the launch.

The latest Firmware Update v01.00.0800 addresses the IMU calibration problem that a number of people had experienced.

IMU stands for inertial measurement unit. This is a device that combines inertial sensors – gyroscopes and accelerometers – to produce acceleration and orientation data that can be used to compute location and velocity. IMUs normally have one sensor for each axis being measured, with a maximum of three axes for roll, pitch, and yaw, according to unmanned systems technology.
