EAST GRAND FORKS — Cities and counties throughout northeast North Dakota and northwest Minnesota have been fighting rising rivers this week as water levels quickly increased amid heavy rains and melting snow last weekend.

Even as rivers, like the Red River at Grand Forks/East Grand Forks, begin to crest, fields across the region remain flooded. Roads also remain closed throughout the area and more rain may be on the way this weekend.

Drone footage shot by WDAY’s Ryan Longnecker show just how far the water has reached in local communities like Fisher, Oslo and East Grand Forks.
