The FreeFly Systems’ Alta X drone is now the second drone, after the senseFly eBee TAC, to be approved and added to the Blue sUAS 2.0 program.

When the Blue sUAS program was originally announced in August 2020, it was exclusively dedicated to short-range surveillance activities.

Blue sUAS 2.0 expands scope

The Blue sUAS 2.0 initiative has been expanded to incorporate a wider range of non-military drone applications such as infrastructure screening, public safety, and mapping.

The Blue sUAS 2.0 program now includes the following drone models:

Alta X drone added to Blue sUAS

The FreeFly Systems’ Alta X drone is a quadcopter that has been designed and manufactured in the United States. It is a foldable drone that can be deployed in less than 20 seconds and can be set up with various third-party payloads, such as gimbaled EO/IR, mapping, LiDAR, and drop/delivery capabilities.
