The Presque Isle tug/barge combo is a one-of-a-kind on the Great Lakes.

Not only is the tug dedicated to push the barge and no other barge, the combined length of the two is just 14 feet short of the biggest freighter on the Great Lakes, the Paul R. Tregurtha.

In today’s Sights and Sounds Drone Edition, photojournalist Jim LeHocky shows us the 1000 foot long Presque Isle as it ventured last Friday on the St. Mary’s River in Sault Ste. Marie.
