The helicopter has flown for 4,647 meters on Mars as it is currently flying to the northwest portion of a region known as Séítah.

The little helicopter that has surprised its makers remain airborne on an alien planet as it soared into Martian air for a 22nd successful flight. The Ingenuity helicopter that reached Mars over a year ago, has exceeded its expectation that was initially limited to a few technological demonstrations.

Since its arrival on Mars, Ingenuity has emerged as a big player in deep space exploration, boosting our capabilities of aerial reconnaissance on a planet that has remained inhospitable for millions of years. With 22 flights under its belt, the Ingenuity team is not in a resting mode and is already planning the 23rd flight later this week.
