MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. — On Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., seven teams of high school students from four states will compete in the Mountain Home High School NJROTC’s drone competition “Droneageddon” in the school’s gymnasium.

The teams representing six high schools will compete in five events with drones: slalom, relay, lap, obstacle course and a surprise event.

A school spokesperson says the MHHS cadets are looking forward to this event bringing together acquaintances and friends from other schools and giving students the opportunity to meet new people.

MHHS student Cadet Ensign Amick says he is excited about seeing a friendly competition between the units.

During this event, an Explosive Disposal Team and two drones from the Army will be present as a way to showcase Army STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) programs.
