CNY Drones, a local volunteer organization promoting drone-focused STEM programs, has become the state affiliate and statewide league administrator for US Drone Soccer.

US Drone Soccer offers the indoor team sport for students aged 12 to 18.  Games are played with teams of three or five players using remote-controlled hobby quadcopters.  The sport combines technical building and coding skills with sports strategy.

As New York Affiliates, the CNY Drones Planning Committee will help guide the development of teams, arena sites, intramural sites, competitions, training programs and camps.

Games are held inside fully enclosed 10-foot by 20-foot netted arenas.  One drone on each team is designated as a Striker that can score points by flying through the opposing goal.

All other drones are defending or blocking by intentionally colliding with the opposing team.

The arena can fit inside a classroom, building foyer, cafeteria, or gymnasium.
