The Commercial UAV Expo keynotes in Las Vegas kicked off this morning to a reassuringly full (but appropriately socially distanced) auditorium, and insights from drone industry figures including the Commercial Drone Alliance’s Lisa Ellman and FAA Chief Administrator Steve Dickson.

“With a new administration in place in Washington, there’s been a lot going on,” says Lisa Ellman, co-founder of the Commercial Drone Alliance (CDA). That’s undeniable, and the CDA has been in the mix representing the drone industry’s interests. In addition to working with the White House transition team, the CDA is seeking the nomination of the White House Technology Officer. They’re lobbying Congress to focus on implementing drones in infrastructure development projects, to promote worker safety and efficiency.
