Drone terror: Forces count on anti-drone tech to neutralise it | Hyderabad News
Hyderabad: In the wake of recent drone IED attacks in Jammu and Maoists using drone cameras for surveillance, security forces guarding vital installations are now keen on immediate deployment of anti-drone systems to effectively counter the threat.
The double drone terror attack on Jammu Airforce Station with IEDs on June 27 and subsequent sightings of unidentified drones at different places close to India-Pakistan border has forced security agencies to rethink defence preparedness against such UAV attacks. Cops operating in Maoist-hit Gadchiroli (Maharashtra) and Dandakaranya (Chhattisgarh) have also spotted drones near camps of security forces.
Given the backdrop, a conference was recently held at Shamirpet at National Industrial Security Academy (NISA) — training academy of CISF which guards several vital installations such as airports, nuclear facilities, oil refineries, power projects and government offices — to discuss drone and anti-drone technologies.
