La Crosse has new drone search and rescue team
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – The La Crosse Community Foundation grant now supports the area’s new drone search team.
This search team was created by AVCAP and is the first of its kind in the La Crosse area.
This new drone search team allows the youth to experience aviation and aerospace first hand, while at the same time improving the community by using new technology to help with area searches.
AVCAP will help train the youth to become drone pilots while educating them on the aviation industry.
“Drones are small and mandrel systems are sorta the new emerging technology that civil air patrol is using to enhance their ability to do search and rescue,” AVCAP President Todd Mandel said.
